There are now a wide selection of LED lamps and fixtures that can be used with conventional wall dimmers. (Dimmers that are operated by turning a knob or moving a slider). These lamps have been designed to exhibit a wide range of dimming, from 10% to 100% of their light intensity. Since LED lamps draw substantially less than incandescent lamps, you can put up to 8 times as many LED lamps connected to the same single dimmer. When installing new dimmers, many manufacturers are designing adjustments in the dimming range to accommodate LEDs operating range. LEDs requires a slightly higher starting voltage to start lighting so the manufacturers are incorporating a small adjustment control on the side of the dimmer that you set when you install the wall dimmer.
